After sitting idle for a month, Gozzi Racing slapped on a set of sail panels and hauled north to the Accord Speedway for a night of competition on the tight bullring. Justin competed there once before in the Sportsman division, but a significant amount of banking has been added since then, and a big block is an entirely different animal to conquer. This ended up being the opening night for the team, so there were many gremlins that plagued them throughout the night. Justin fought through carburetor and brake problems, but with the tough 37 car field assembled they were too much to overcome and the 85 failed to qualify through the heat. A stuck throttle as Justin came out for the consi ended the night prematurely. This week, Gozzi Racing will return to Orange County to shake the car down and try to repair their carburetor issues.

Today was practice day at the Orange County Fair Speedway, and with it came the first look at the newly configured racetrack. The track was flattened out in an effort to improve competition. The only thing that improved on this day was the bank account of the parts suppliers! The track was horribly rough, and as a result, Justin parked the 85 for the afternoon after doing two slow laps. Until track conditions improve, Gozzi Racing will not return to OCFS.

Well we're two and a half weeks away from practice, and Gozzi Racing is just about ready to roll! Just a few small things remain on the checklist meaning this is the most prepared they've ever been! The revamped 2006 Bicknell will be Gozzi's primary ride with the 2003 readied in case of emergency. The 85, with primary sponsorship from RepairSlowComputer.com this year, will have a new eye-catching paint job thanks to Tri-Star Graphics. Justin and Team would like to welcome three new sponsors to the fold this year: BrettGaramella.com, Jim's Welding, and Valken Racing, and would like to thank Murphy's Speed & Custom and Tri-Star for their continued support.

Tonight was the annual Orange County Fair Speedway banquet, and Justin was honored as 2009 Big Block Modified Rookie of the Year! It wasn't the season the Team was looking for, but they learned a lot and this award was the culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication by many people. Justin would like to thank his crew, sponsors, family, and the many teams and drivers who've offered their help throughout the season including Perino Motorsports, Mike Kolka Racing, and the Shultz family for making this possible!
